Livermore Names its First Ambassadog, Boomer Bowers!
Boomer Bowers is the first Ambassadog for Livermore, a role the nine-year-old English cream Labrador Retriever takes very seriously. Valley Humane Society and Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) officially recognized Boomer as Livermore’s Ambassadog during the LARPD’s Board of Directors meeting on January 31, 2024. Boomer was presented with a proclamation, certificate, and Ambassadog leash.
Boomer is the perfect choice to represent Livermore due to his impressive list of achievements. He has been heavily involved in Livermore schools, serving as a reading partner to students with special needs, providing comfort during times of grief or crisis, and offering a soft head and big, soulful eyes during finals.
His community achievements include volunteering at vaccination events, LARPD’s Dogtoberfest, contests sponsored by the Guinness Book of World Records, the annual Race to the Flagpole, and more!
Owner, Kelly Bowers, President/CEO of Three Valleys Community Foundation and former LVJUSD Superintendent, has been introducing Boomer to the community for years. Boomer will represent Livermore at Muffins with Bunny, Community Service Day and the Little League World Series.
