This land was originally owned by the Pestana Family. The Pestana’s subdivided it into 49 lots, and sold some lots in early 1980’s to SMS Construction. SMS Construction started the project and then went bankrupt. A group came in and bought the lots and finished the project. These homes were both semi-custom and custom built. The Pestana’s then sold 30 lots to Black Mountain Construction in the mid 1990’s. Black Mountain Construction sold the lots to individual buyer and then built their custom homes. Carriage Gardens second phase were all built as custom homes and they were finished from 1998 – 2000.
What sets Carriage Gardens apart from other luxury Pleasanton neighborhoods is each house is on at a least a half acre lot, and some as big as one acre.
