In a tradition that dates back to 1912, the Alameda County Fair is coming to town! If you listen carefully, you can hear the stampede of the traditional Opening Day Cattle Drive, an event where “Real-life cowboys and cowgirls rustle a mighty herd of steers through Downtown Pleasanton as the Opening Day Cattle Drive returns for its third and final ride.”
People line the streets starting at Del Valle Avenue to see the horses and cowboys rustle the cattle to Main Street. The event starts at 10:30 am on June 14 and participating restaurants and retailers will be handing out free tickets to the fair while supplies last. For more information, click this link.
Something for Everyone at the Alameda County Fair
For everyone who’s ever been to the fair, smells of popcorn and funnel cakes, the taste of cold beer and soft drinks, the sounds of kids’ screaming with delight as they fly up and overhead on the rides evoke pleasant memories.
