Officials from the East Bay Regional Park District have announced the reopening of several of its parks beginning October 2.
Del Valle Regional Park in Livermore and Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area are two of the parks that are set to reopen under strict health guidelines.
The parks, which have been partially closed due to the pandemic, will be open with restrictions.
Livermore and Pleasanton Parks Provide Mental and Health Benefits
The Park District Board and its staff have made parks a priority during shelter in place. Livermore and Pleasanton parks provide residents with the opportunity to exercise, get fresh air, surround themselves with nature, have some fun, and be around people while still maintaining a safe social distance.
The need to be outdoors is paramount to the health and well-being of Livermore and Pleasanton residents who will now get to visit Del Valle Regional Park and Shadow Cliffs Regional Park on a limited bases.
Updates for Livermore’s Del Valle Regional Park
Outdoor enthusiasts can pack their camping gear and prepare their boats, as camping and boating will be allowed at 50% capacity at Del Valle Regional Park beginning October 2.
Del Valle is known for its prime location, only 10 miles south of Livermore, and for its sheer beauty surrounded by magnificent oak trees. It’s a popular destination for sail boaters windsurfers, and those who want a quick get away without traveling far from home.
Reservations must be made in advance and can be accessed through www.ebparks.org/register or by calling 1-888-327-2757. It’s a good idea to call the park for more information and updates and book your reservation as soon as possible.
Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area Available to Walk-Ins
Nature lovers who want a quiet retreat in Pleasanton do not have to go far. A mile from downtown Pleasanton off Stanley Blvd., Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area offers a peaceful refuge. There is a larger lake as well as smaller ponds and water areas perfect for a day trip.
Shadow Cliffs Regional Recreation Area in Pleasanton is available on a walk-in basis, however, boating and swimming are still restricted. Visitors are required to follow all social distancing guidelines for the safety of all. Visit the website for more information.
